Dr. Shameka was born and raised in Alabama and now resides in Atlanta, Georgia. She is a graduate of Higher Place Christian University with a BA, MS, and Doctorate in Christian Counseling. Dr. Shameka also completed her Chaplaincy program at Aiden University and Restoration Theological Seminary.

Her extensive education, expertise, and training have established her as a respected professional in the Counseling field, where she has held numerous positions and roles. Dr. Shameka is a Certified Anger Management Specialist and the Owner/Founder of Open Heart International of Atlanta—an organization dedicated to Ministry, Counseling, and Education. This organization includes Open Heart Counseling Services and Open Heart Christian University, among other ventures.

A passionate advocate for education and personal development, Dr. Shameka is also the Founder of Open Heart International Fellowship of Churches and Leaders. She is an accomplished Author of 20 books and counting, available on Amazon and Lulu. Beyond writing, Dr. Shameka creates transformative courses designed to help individuals and families become better versions of themselves. She has been featured in numerous magazine articles and platforms, sharing her wisdom with a wider audience.
